Reviewer, Kitchenware Testing Team

I’m part of the testing team at The Kitchenware Journal, with a focus that’s more specific than most: salt and pepper grinders, spice mills, kitchen scales, and food dehydrators. Before writing about kitchenware, I worked with kitchenware manufacturers on product development and quality assessment, which gave me an inside look at how these tools are actually built, not just how they’re marketed.

What I Test For

For grinders and mills, I look at grind consistency, how well the mechanism holds up over repeated use, and whether the adjustment settings actually change anything meaningful. For scales, accuracy and consistency matter more than styling. I run each product through the kind of repeated, everyday use it’s built for, not a single showroom test.

Where I haven’t tested a product directly myself, I rely on manufacturer specs and verified owner feedback, and I say so plainly.
